I am responsible for the design, delivery and ongoing support of all audio-visual installations on campus, including those in our 200+ learning and meeting spaces. I work as part of the design and delivery team on large new build, refurbishment and ongoing refresh projects to understand end-user functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.I also lead the service team, which is overseen by a service manager who runs the day-to-day, operational support of the spaces delivered by a team of dedicated and passionate technicians.

With over 200 learning spaces across campus, I manage an upgrade and refresh programme of both audio-visual and learning technologies in these environments, with a key focus on improving functionality and user experience. This includes reviewing and evolving agreed AV specifications and designs whilst identifying and incorporating emerging technologies that provide opportunities for learning in alignment with University objectives and user requirements. I am also involved in designing technology for learning spaces in new build projects, working closely with colleagues in our Estates team to deliver high-quality learning environments for our staff and students.Additionally, I manage the support processes for these spaces and work closely with the University's contracted AV integrator to ensure a high-quality support service and experience for both staff and student users.

As a key member of the Studio Technology team, I am responsible for the production of a wide range of professional media content for use as part of teaching/learning resources, marketing, archive and public engagement for the University. Using a range of professional audio and video hardware/software, I collaborate with both academics and the Learning Technology team to both design and produce bespoke, structured and pedagogically appropriate media content that meets or contributes towards the intended learning outcomes of the desired course.I am also responsible for providing technical support and advice to staff and student users of the University’s Television Studio and Editing Suites. As part of this, I frequently design and deliver technical training workshops, presentations and interactive demonstrations to both students and staff on an array of media production hardware/software and processes. This training extends to other associated educational technologies, such as media production software and demonstrating to staff how these can be used within teaching and learning. The support also includes maintaining a wide range of portable media production equipment, managing a central media storage/archive server and providing technical maintenance for a number of Apple Mac Pro computers.My role also requires the provision of technical support for a range of high-profile events, which includes operating and advising upon the use of IT and AV systems in various teaching environments. Such events require me to have extensive knowledge of the equipment in these spaces, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the event runs to a high standard. During my time in this role, I have played a key part in developing a high quality filming, editing and live-streaming process and service for these events that utilises a range of technologies.

Working on a wide range of visual media projects, from short films to high-end corporate films, both as a boom operator & production sound mixer, as well as a solo sound recordist.In addition to location sound recording, I also work on projects throughout their entire audio post-production process as a sound editor, re-recording mixer, sound designer and other relative roles. I was responsible for recording broadcast quality location sound for a wide-range of corporate clients and television production companies including the BBC, HSBC and Sport Relief. Using a range of audio production equipment and applying professional recording techniques, I worked as a key member of multiple production teams on film shoots. I often had to negotiate with other team members and departments at all levels to ensure that any challenges which arose that could directly affect the quality of my service were either overcome or compromised upon, whilst consistently maintaining a vision for the quality of the finished product. Offering my assistance to other departments on the crew (eg. camera, lighting) when possible helped broaden my knowledge and understanding of a wide range of equipment and processes.Additionally, I worked in the company’s kit room to help prepare and maintain a vast range of media production equipment for production shoots and for client rentals, whilst acting as a source of advice to clients on professional audio production equipment and associated technologies. I also project managed the design, build, migration and implementation of a new company website, using my skills in HTML, CSS and Content Management Systems (WordPress) to create a visually exciting website that presented the necessary information in a professional format. I was also responsible for designing and delivering training on audio equipment and techniques to other team members.

As part of small team of Audio Operators, I was responsible for over 500 hours of broadcast sound for live TV shows across the company's three TV shopping channels; Ideal World, Create & Craft and The Deal Channel. My main responsibilities included desk operation (Sony DMX-R100), mixing to broadcast specification, preparing telephone callers for air, allocating microphones for presenters/guests, music/SFX sourcing, logging music/SFX for PRS reports, attending pre-production meetings, providing advice for sound queries and location sound recording on promo shoots.

Working as part of the Technical Operations team, I worked on live shows across the company's three TV shopping channels; Ideal World, Create & Craft and The Deal Channel.My main responsibilities included live sound mixing and playing out grams, live camera operation, camera racking and vision control, setting up technical requirements for shows such as large format displays and audio/video feeds, lighting sets and mic'ing up guests.
