Software Development for High Speed Banknote Sorting Machine- Software Architect and Team Lead for development of next generation sorting machine software. As team lead, coached and mentored junior developers. Developed next generation sorting machine software - a prototype machine designed for requirements of the US Federal Reserve Bank. Met and adhered to the software development milestones required by the bank. Presented software development progress to federal bank employees in milestone meetings. Created detailed designs for system components, including functional specifications, state models, data structure design, and interface contracts with other components (C# .Net, multi-threaded design).- Developed real-time banknote image acquisition system. Interfaced with line scan camera for image acquisition. Image data transferred to processing system via Ethernet. Bare-metal ARM processor environment (Zynq 7000).- Developed encoder clock distribution system (Zynq 7000, Windows C++ MFC)- Developed several features of real-time image processing system. Uses cameras and image processing for denomination, authentication, and fitness of banknotes (Windows, Visual C++/MFC)- Developed several features of a banknote bundling system: Inkjet printer controller, dual core logging system, DHCP server, TFTP client, bitmap generator for 2D DataMatrix barcode (Zynq 7000) - Provided remote and on-site software support for international banking customers

GSM Media Gateway Software DesignDesigned, developed, tested, and supported GSM and UMTS wireless core network software, including C++ real-time ATM and IP packet switching, low level debug tools, and operator provisioning interfaces.• Integrated new feature software into the large code base of Nortel's GSM Media Gateway product.• Developed wireless protocols, VoIP/VoATM software layers.• Developed board level initialization, loading, and control of hardware devices.• Developed OA&M support software layers using Schlaer-Mellor modeling, and I-OOA toolset (generates C++ code).• Provided customer support for AT&T Wireless. GSM Test Platform Software Design Designed, implemented, tested and supported multi-user software testing platform which simulates external interfaces and allows remote users to execute test cases for verification of Nortel switch software. Starting with a small team, the design and support staff rapidly grew to over 30 team members.• Researched, evaluated, and recommended base hardware and operating system decision. Developed servers for SS7 and GSM signaling protocols using C++ on VxWorks, Linux, and UNIX.• Interfaced with product design and test teams to define new feature requirements.• Led several feature design teams, ensuring quality and on-time delivery of each stage of the development process.• Designed and developed Linux operating system device driver, daemon process, and network related kernel modifications for processing of IP and Ethernet level packets. • Traveled to other corporate sites to install and configure test platform. • Wrote and maintained department level ISO 9000 design procedure.
