Drones and corn: those two things came together in my life in 2016 and completely changed my life trajectory.I developed a love for flying in March 2016 when I trained to become a Sport pilot, only so that I could fly drones (commercially) over corn plants. From that point forward up until May 2018, I became a private pilot. Bound and determined to change careers, I gave up everything I knew about agriculture to pursue a full-time career in aviation. In March 2019, I successfully sold off most of my belongings, packed the rest into a u-Haul with a trailer to tow my Volkswagen Jetta, and moved 1,192 miles to Tampa, FL with my cats, Rocco and Cooper, to change my life. In eight months, I earned my instrument rating, commercial license, flight instructor license, flight instructor - instrument rating, multi-engine commercial rating, and multi-engine instructor rating. I did it. I took the biggest risk of my life and succeeded which is, to date, my biggest accomplishment of my life.From Tampa, I moved to Phoenix, AZ and began working with CAE Oxford Aviation Training Academy out of Falcon Field Airport in Mesa. I started teaching Part 141 with Oberlin University. It wasn't until a couple months later, I was asked to join the Southwest Airline Cadet Program, Destination 225 (a Part 61 program). I spent the next seven months teaching private, instrument, and commercial students. To date, I have gained much more experience and have increased my aviation knowledge to become a better flight instructor and overall, pilot.
