About Matt Pascarella
From the time I was a child, I possessed an interest in media and journalism. I leaned toward radio at the time because I was a lifeguard and listened to the radio all day. It was era when radio was having a comeback. In my sophomore year at Rutgers University, where I was a journalism major, I joined the radio station WRSU’s news department. There I hosted a call-in news talk show and would eventually become the news director. I recruited a team and created some good connections. After graduation, one of those friends would later help me to secure a freelancing job at The Wall Street Journal in its radio news division; which jump-started my career.I love telling stories and the challenge of doing it uniquely. Sometimes events force you to cover them because they are that compelling. The opportunity is always in telling that story that reflects your sensibility and approach. At times, the news cycle is boring and it’s your job to find stories that can still grab an audience. And no matter what story you tell, the goal is always to inform and entertain—two things that I love doing based on my expertise and experience. I am proud of the quality programming I produce at the Fox News Rundown, where I’ve received positive feedback from journalists, broadcasters, executives, and politicians who enjoy our show.I am proud that The Tom Sullivan Radio show, which I worked on, was spun off into a successful weekend television show despite many challenges, including having been barely promoted and airing after re-runs on a Saturday.During the course of my career, I have met heroes and the people I admired, including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mark Cuban, Ken Burns, TV chef Robert Irvine, Penn & Teller, and Joe Namath. Just to name a few.Besides being creative, hardworking, and reliable, my colleagues would agree I am easy to work with.
