Lead a team of 5 Procurement Managers, 3 Contract Managers, and an Offshore BPO function, to run the procurement function supporting a CAPEX budget of ~$1.2B p.a. Role builds and executes on sourcing strategies, leads negotiations and creates toolsets to deliver on multi-year savings plans for the procurement of telecoms hardware, software and services.

The Associate Director of Networks Operational Efficiency is accountable for the development and the implementation of initiatives to increase the operational efficiency in the Networks division. This strategic role provides significant leadership within Networks and to the wider Optus organisation and the Singtel Group. The role substantially contributes to Network’s ability to realise sustainable mid and long term quality improvements and operational cost efficiencies. The role requires effective management of planning and the successful implementation of business improvement programs including the direct management of small and large project teams to enable long term sustainability across Mobile & Wireless Broadband & Fixed portfolios. The Associate Director of Networks Operational Efficiency establishes and manages the relationships both on a working and senior management level (GM, Director, Head of Finance and Managing Directors, CFO and CEO) to ensure stakeholders support. The role establishes and develops vendor relationships to seek and implement new business models and covers the development, coordination and implementation of initiatives in the wider Singtel group. In addition, it leads a small team of direct and functional reports to achieve the team’s goals.Key Achievements in this role include:Commercial and Contract Negotiation lead on ~$500M mobile deployment and construction tender. Achievements include technical contract writing, commercial negotiations and the meeting of procurement targets, para-legal advice and award preparation and C-level communications

As Manager of Operational Efficiency, I am responsible for the development and the implementation of initiatives to increase the operational efficiency in Networks.Key achievements while in this role include:•Commercial lead on the introduction of a CDN Platform into Networks, including the build of business cases, contract negotiation, and SLT sponsorship packs.•Lead FY15 OPEX reduction program, removing >$50M OPEX through efficiency and cost saving initiatives•Efficiency lead and core member of Nortel DMS consolidation tender program; analysed market responses to remove 11 DMS switches from the Network while optimising existing transmission, costs and delivery times. •Program lead on Networks Supply Chain Transformation Program. Designed and implemented the Transformation Plan, and achieved reductions in OPEX spend by over $4M YoY.•Built a number of new business processes to reduce waste and increase business benefit. Processes included Local Scrapping Process, forecast accuracy, warehouse footprint reduction, and reverse logistics processes.•Designed Spare Parts Management Service and Optimisation Plan, allowing business to only hold optimal stock levels using Poisson distribution formulas, and outsource costs where appropriate ($0.5M savings).•Designed 3 year Networks Supply Chain Strategy for presentation to Head of Commercial Australia•Project managed Pronto/SAP B2B integration allowing removal of $4M OPEX costs p.a.•Lead Consultant on End of Life Equipment Sales with Global Vendors. Revenue >$1M this financial year.

Designed converged voice and data networks for TPG/Soul's Business, Government and Wholesale customers. This included complex Layer 3 VPN, Switching, BGP routing and Fortinet Firewall design and consultancy.
