• Manage the UN Refugee Agency’s legislative, policy, and external relations strategy and agenda; cultivate and maintain strong relationships with legislators and staff, executive branch officials, and other key stakeholders to anticipate action and advance Agency policy priorities; led successful advocacy with Congress and Executive Branch to increase federal funding for Agency by more than 2.5x (more than $2B, up from $793M)• Advise Agency chief and deputy, senior management, field operations leaders, and celebrity & goodwill ambassadors; provide updates, analysis, and guidance regarding all Washington, state, and local level engagement in the U.S.• Oversee team of high-producing advocates/staff; develop team vision and strategy; build strong working relationships and lead engagement across 20,000-person agency, including with HQ leaders, regional directors, and operations leaders in 135 countries to understand challenges and opportunities and ensure our engagement effectively enables the Agency to carry out its mission with robust support from the U.S. public & private sectors• Lead bipartisan delegations of policymakers, private sector leaders, and journalists overseas to refugee operations to persuade, mobilize support for, and showcase the vital impacts of U.S. funding and public-private partnerships• Served on humanitarian emergency deployments to Jordan and Bangladesh
