This information is then used to create a build specification document, outlining each element of the website, and the technical details required to achieve this functionality. I first joined ourBrisbane.com in 2007 during the redevelopment of the site from Dreamweaver templates to the Drupal 5 CMS. Initially as part of the Tech Team I was required to implement the new site design and dealt primarily with the front end of the site, which included cross browser compatibility. Once the design of the site was completed I was given the task of creating various custom modules of code to help improve the functionality of the site. Initially as part of the Tech Team I was required to implement the new site design and dealt primarily with the front end of the site, which included cross browser compatibility. Once the design of the site was completed I was given the task of creating various custom modules of code to help improve the functionality of the site. After the Drupal version of ourBrisbane.com was launched the majority of my time was spent dealing with improving functionality and performance throughout the site. I also dealt directly with members of the design and content production teams to create event specific feature sections for the site, each with their own list of requirements. I was primarily involved in the migration of the site from Drupal 5 to Drupal 6. My initial responsibility was to replace as much of our custom code as possible by leveraging the new Drupal 6 platform. My most significant achievement in this endeavour was the reduction of over 100 custom database pages into 12 argument driven pages, which had substantially faster database query and page load times. I then split my time between rebuilding the front end of the site, and training the web content producers on the new Drupal 6 system.During my time with ourBrisbane.com, I was engaged in all aspects of development, from theming to custom module creation. With such a large site I was often required to work autonomously, and deal directly with the design, content, and marketing teams all at the same time.
