The main body of my work in this role consists of migration of on-premises DMZ applications to Azure via Azure DevOps.This includes architecture design from on-premises to cloud, containerization from Windows to Linux, building Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilising Azure components such as Azure app service, Azure Storage, FrontDoor, Application Gateway, and lately APIM.

My team maintain and oversee the department's Azure cloud infrastructure, including complex multi-region highly available server and service fabric environments, which we also implemented in a recent major project. The norm for my role is to plan, scope, architect and implement projects incorporating networking, security, storage infrastructure, backup and resilience, virtualised or physical platform deployment, operating system configuration and integration, working across all seven layers of the OSI model and consulting and operating alongside area specialists and the business.
