An inter-university/state "book club" for undergraduate and graduate students to continue their education throughout the summer. Classes are at the undergraduate level since most members are preoccupied with full-time research. All materials are from open courses online (such as MIT OCW or Harvard Online), so materials are free. Members meet weekly to discuss readings/homework from the previous week, and to maintain a sense of community. This is a formalization of another study club that I started last year after several friends and I lost our jobs due to COVID-19. I continue it as a hobby.As the organizer, I select course sequences, aggregate course materials, adapt courses to asynchronous group settings, manage a slack workspace, schedule meetings, and perform outreach.This summer, we are studying Modern Algebra with a curriculum largely based off of MIT course 18.703. This acts as a prerequisite for Algebraic Topology, MIT course 18.905.
