I'm principally a C++ software engineer, but I've also worked extensively with C#, Java, Node, and Golang. I started teaching myself QBasic at the age of 9, and began teaching myself both C and C++ around 1994. I'm not especially brilliant, I'm just proud of my craft. I endeavor to bring world class software development everywhere I go; I believe in today's contracting market, world class software quality is what you need to survive. Software that looks elegant, my work has even been called academic in nature, will usually run and maintain well.In college, while my roommates went to bed at 2am after study-group, I stayed up an additional four hours studying my algebra and calculus, putting in the extra effort. At WMS Gaming, I delivered tools that were work multipliers still used years after I had left, as of when I last checked. During my tenure at RealTick, I was known for fixing bugs and adding features, but removing lines of code, overall. One day I overheard how much they were going to spend on a server room upgrade and balked; I decided then to increase throughput by ten million percent, and drop memory usage by ninety-eight percent, just because I could, and I wasn't going to wait for permission. For Cardinal Capital, I made once-a-day market calculations available real-time, and again, increased total productivity for all staff and the entire shop by automating much of their process and communication. And today, in my current role, I am the resident domain expert in engineering C++ solutions.I'm sorry I don't have a GitHub portfolio to showcase, I am, frankly, too busy writing software for my employers that make us all money.
