As Product Development Manager, I was responsible for the product quality of automated and editorial alerts, planning new user facing product features, and managing developers and project timelines. The technical implementation of ESPN's Alerts system includes a REST API, connected to platforms like APNS, Helium and GCM Notifications, Windows Phone (MPNS), and SMS. I was responsible for researching new product ideas-- both internal and external, and evaluating them objectively from a market and financial standpoint.ESPN has sent fans more than 50 billion alerts since the program's inception in 2007. Each month, I am responsible for the news, scores, fantasy and major event updates from our messaging product that touches over 25 million devices.- Grew Message-able App Audience by 200% in one year via sound Product Strategy.- Strategically positioned the app and editorial team to primarily serve team based notifications.- Responsible for the delivery of roughly >2 billion alerts per month. 50+ billion delivered.- Presenting product strategy to Executive Leadership, and bridged the gap between Editorial, Sales, and Engineers.- Built the ESPN Alerts API.- Created an internal testing environment leveraged by developers, QA team and 3rd parties.- Streamlined the editorial process with tools and closer relationships.
