After almost 24 years with National Instruments (NI) in a myriad of roles, it is time to start writing my next chapter. I am very grateful for the relationships and skills I developed as I grew from a wide-eyed college graduate to a balding, graying industry veteran. NI is the only company I've ever worked for after college, and I feel very fortunate that I picked a company "Built to Last" back in the technology bubble of 2000.I will be working my way through the 4 phases of early retirement: permanent vacation, depression, experimentation, and finally, reinvention :)I always told myself that I would become a teacher in my later years, so I plan to begin substituting in our local school district later this month. Who knows what the future holds? Certainly more time with family and friends, and giving back to the community that has treated me so well.Thanks for all of your support along the way.
