Managed a team of up to 15 development engineers and testers delivering safety critical embedded software to our client in the medical devices sector. This included developing production software to measure blood glucose levels for a meter used by diabetics. Responsible for all aspects of the project, including technical delivery, resourcing and quality.

Programme and Project Management to deliver Picsel’s software product to customers. Projects range from a deploying the standard product and managing the integration to significant customisation requiring bespoke development work. Picsel’s prime product is a document viewing and editing package suitable for mobile devices, including feature and smart phones. Recent target devices have included Android and iOS smart phones, embedded Linux for a pico projector platform and Linux eBook readers.Key responsibilities include providing relevant technical pre-sales information to sales staff, production of technical proposals, estimating project delivery costs, negotiation to secure required resources, management of project managers and monitoring of all customer projects across the company. The role involves working closely with senior management, particularly during the pre-sales phase. Project managers and project teams are based both in the UK and Far East, requiring management across time zones and cultures.
