Prior to Sirtex, I worked for almost two decades at Abbott Vascular as the company launched an innovative portfolio of Drug-Eluting Stent (DES) products. Highlights during this time include: - Managing global marketing for DES launches in the US, Europe, China, Japan, India, and Latin America - supporting Abbott’s current global DES leadership position. - As Japan Marketing Director, I was awarded the President’s award for achieving an all-time global record for DES market share. As President of Abbott Vascular Japan, I led the market development and launch preparation for Abbott’s revolutionary fully bioabsorbable polymer drug-eluting scaffold. I worked closely with Abbott Clin/reg teams, regulatory agencies, and physician advisors to develop and implement regulatory, clinical, and reimbursement strategies. The product was approved ahead of schedule and received premium reimbursement – the only market worldwide to achieve a premium. I also led the integration of St. Jude Medical Japan with Abbott Vascular Japan and assumed leadership of the combined organization. As part of this re-organization, I initiated several programs to accelerate the growth of the legacy St. Jude Medical portfolio, including developing a dedicated sales organization focused solely on imaging and physiology. These programs and the new sales structure drove significant growth that exceeded expectations in the first 12 months post-acquisition. As DVP for US Coronary Sales & Marketing, I recently spearheaded the market development for coronary microvascular disease (CMD) diagnosis with the launch of the first-ever commercial technology to diagnose CMD in the US. This new technology is now becoming widely available to patients in leading hospitals across the US.
