From day one, I knew I could go to Matt for anything from very technical questions about product feature/functionality, to objection handling - and he was always great at brainstorming new and effective ways to sell into new markets.
Matt has the natural ability to mentor and I often noticed others coming to him for advice as well, whether they were on our team - or others within Fiberlink.
No matter what Matt had going on, he always made time to help where he was needed and this never once impacted his numbers. He's just one of those guys that has the perfect mix of knowledge and personality and hunger to always be learning that makes for an amazing addition to any team.
When I made the switch from direct sales to Channel Sales at Fiberlink, there were a few sales reps who I leaned on to help drive sales for my Business Partners and Matt was one of them. Not all successful sales reps can work well in the Channel, but Matt was amazing... Allowing the Business Partners to "own" their client relationships while taking their lead and supporting opportunities from the onset, through prospecting, deal registration, product demos, supporting through proof of concept, recommending product bundles based on the needs of the client - straight through to the close. But for Matt it didn't end there. As a tenured Channel friendly sales rep, Matt was fully aware of the benefits of working with Channel Partners and would continue to support those clients through implementation and beyond, always keeping clients updated when new updates and features were added to the solution, often resulting in up sells for my Business Partners. Not only did this increase his sales for the month, but it strengthened his Partner relationships and made me look good in the process.
To sum it all up: Whether direct sales, channel sales or sales management... Matt would be an amazing addition to ANY team - and I hope to have the pleasure of working with him again!
