ETJ Advisory enables highly driven CEOs to achieve uncommon goals that alter their personal trajectory. While CEO of SBI in 2018, I joined my first board of a PE backed portfolio company. 4 years later, I transitioned from CEO to a fulltime board advisor and CEO coach. I usually sit on no more than 5 boards at a time. I recently wrote a book focused on CEO effectiveness in PE backed companies called " The Second CEO- Accelerating Scale When Following the Founder". I serve founders and second CEOs who are in the process of managing succession in a PE backed environment in a board capacity as a CEO coach and GTM advisor. I invest my time and money alongside these executives which ensures we are completely aligned in driving outcomes for the employees and shareholders they serve. There are thousands of books written on how to be a CEO and how to start a company but nobody had ever written about walking the tightrope of founder succession in PE environment. Having led my previous firm through two liquidity events and followed a founder myself, I bring a practitioner's view augmented with my almost 3 decades of operating and consulting expertise. I have been fortunate to be a 3 time lead independent director and also serve as chairman which has given me a deep sense of what makes a board really work that drives outsized value creation in concert with the CEO and PE sponsor.
