My achievements include the following:• Developed new apprenticeship provision from scratch including designing and delivering the overarching strategy. Our current apprenticeship programme now has over 200 students across thirteen standards with retention rates over 90%.• Delivered the college strategy to diversify AEB provision by developing an industry leading solar panel installer SWAP course that has successfully recruited dozens of students into permanent roles in a key growth sector.• College lead for development of LSIF and SDF bids including supporting with bid design and project management to ensure achievement of KPIs across multiple projects. • Designed and delivered high impact Industry Skills Boards by recruiting committed employers across each of our sectors and ensuring that curriculum teams were held to account for meeting skills needs and that specific feedback was incorporated into the curriculum planning processes.• As lead for sustainability within the college I have developed a robust Sustainability Strategy, recruited and chaired our Sustainability Committee and supported with emissions benchmarking to meet our net zero ambitions. -

I was responsible for a budget of over £10m and a staff team of over 100.I managed over 1,800 apprentices as well as 1,200 AEB and substantial commercial learners. I am responsible for over 100 staff and five direct reports and have overall strategic responsibility for a budget in excess of £20m.My achievements include the following:• Tripled Apprenticeship recruitment levels by restructuring the Business Development Team and enforcing a renewed focus on performance management.• Brought a high degree of commerciality to the college including development of new AEB provision, distance learning and full cost offerings and maximisation of existing loan allocation.• Lead SLT member on Fresh Start campaign and configuration of the learner and apprenticeship journeys. Worked closely with external consultants to design, automate and implement new processes and procedures. • Oversaw development of Dynistics dashboards for key performance measures including attendance, enrolment and apprenticeship data. Significantly improved data access and reporting to both SLT and governors.• Developed and implemented a new Apprenticeship Strategy that delivered an offer that met employer and learner need and ensured that the division contributed positively to the achievement of cross college aims and objectives.• Significantly increased full-time FE application numbers year on year through comprehensive rebranding and thorough review of marketing spend. Managing PartnerCreate Skills Ltd Apr 2014 - Nov 2018Rotherham, EnglandIn 2014 the business of Optimas Training was successfully acquired by North Nottinghamshire College and became Create Skills Ltd. Create Skills are now a wholly owned subsidiary of RNN Group delivering Apprenticeships, AEB and commercial provision to learners and employers throughout England. As Managing Partner I had overall responsibility for Create Skills as well as another subsidiary organisation, Charnwood Training Group. The subsidiary provision had an Apprenticeship subcontract with the parent company worth £3.8m and AEB provision of £1.5m in 2017/18.Delivering to over 1,700 apprentices per year across 16 frameworks and 8 standards and achieving success rates in excess of national benchmark, both organisations saw growth during 2017/18, despite a challenging and ever-changing sector.I had overall responsibility for a staff of 62, which includes 35 direct delivery staff as well as Compliance, Administration, Enrolment and Business Development teams. -

Initially focussing on bespoke sales and marketing training we quickly became involved in government funded delivery after being asked to trial the new Sales & Telesales framework by City & Guilds. After initially holding subcontract arrangements with ITS, YTP, Barnsley College, A4e and North Nottinghamshire College we acquired our own direct contract in 2013 to deliver Apprenticeships.With a staff of 32 and a turnover just over £2m, Optimas delivered to over 800 apprentices each year, as well as extensive commercial courses and a 16-18 study programme funded through a subcontract arrangement. We achieved success rates significantly above national average and were successful in several SFA growth cases for our direct contract.
