My role at Moulton College is strategic lead on all outward facing provision including apprenticeships, commercial and Adult Education Budget. Reporting directly to the CEO, I am also responsible for the marketing and employer engagement teams as well as college lead for sustainability. My achievements include the following:• Developed new apprenticeship provision from scratch including designing and delivering the overarching strategy. Our current apprenticeship programme now has over 200 students across thirteen standards with retention rates over 90%.• Delivered the college strategy to diversify AEB provision by developing an industry leading solar panel installer SWAP course that has successfully recruited dozens of students into permanent roles in a key growth sector.• College lead for development of LSIF and SDF bids including supporting with bid design and project management to ensure achievement of KPIs across multiple projects. • Designed and delivered high impact Industry Skills Boards by recruiting committed employers across each of our sectors and ensuring that curriculum teams were held to account for meeting skills needs and that specific feedback was incorporated into the curriculum planning processes.• As lead for sustainability within the college I have developed a robust Sustainability Strategy, recruited and chaired our Sustainability Committee and supported with emissions benchmarking to meet our net zero ambitions.

My role at DCG encompassed strategic leadership of all outward facing provision, including apprenticeships, adult education budget and commercial provision. I was responsible for a budget of over £10m and a staff team of over 100.I managed over 1,800 apprentices as well as 1,200 AEB and substantial commercial learners. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team I was involved in strategic decision making and accountable for ensuring that employer demand was translated into sound curriculum planning.My achievements include the following:• Secured overall achievement rates in apprenticeships at more than 10% higher than the national average• Successfully oversaw the acquisition of the apprenticeship provision at Rolls Royce, Derby which involved the transfer of over 300 apprentices to DCG as the lead provider.• Managed the development of an AEB funded distance learning programme which has enrolled over 1,200 students to date• Implemented a new apprenticeship enrolment process that made the experience faster and more efficient• Used knowledge of PowerBI to develop intuitive apprenticeship performance dashboard that utilised data from ILR, ePortfolio and apprentice surveys• Developed new apprenticeship standards in Software Development at levels 2 and 3

My role at North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College was to project manage the establishment of an IT & Digital Training Academy in Coventry City Centre. The academy was located at Coventry University Technology Park and provided support to employers in addressing the digital skills gap in the region and to inspire individuals towards a rewarding career in this growing sector.My achievements include the following:• Worked with stakeholders to successfully develop the branding and marketing to ensure this was consistent with the vision and values.• Recruited the necessary staff team with the appropriate skills and expertise to deliver an employer responsive curriculum that incorporated the latest industry practices.• Had overall budgetary responsibility for both the initial capital project and the ongoing income and expenditure once the academy commenced delivery.• Developed schemes of work and lesson plans to ensure that the delivery model was both engaging and provided students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours employers need.• Successfully launched the Digital Skills Academy on time and on budget.

The National College of Education (NCE) specialise in delivery of leadership and management apprenticeships into schools across the country. As Exec Director I had overall responsibility for the apprenticeship provision and a staff of 40.Following an inadequate self-assessment grading in April 2019, I was recruited as a consultant to oversee a complete overhaul of the provision. Following six months of implementing extensive changes in personnel, governance, delivery model and quality framework, NCE successfully gained re-admission onto RoATP and had a successful Ofsted monitoring visit in November 2019.NCE are now the largest provider of masters level apprenticeships in the country and have over 1,000 apprentices in schools nationwide.My achievements included the following:• Nominee for successful Ofsted monitoring visit in November 2019.• Oversaw successful reapplication onto RoATP• Developed revamped masters programme in partnership with University of Buckingham• Designed and implemented a new level 5 programme for departmental heads• Reconfigured business development and enrolment teams to significantly increase learner numbers• Oversaw achievement of first cohort of apprentices with 100% achieving either merit or distinction• Diversified income streams by developing EPA function and establishing full cost provision• Established system of KPI monitoring to drive continuous improvement and provide information to GovernorsNCE are now the largest provider of masters level apprenticeships in the country and have over 1,000 apprentices in schools nationwide.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive I was responsible for a wide portfolio including Business Development, Marketing, Recruitment, Customer Service and strategic leadership of AEB, Apprenticeship and SSW delivery.Hull College Group have 26,000 students including over 2,000 apprentices as well as significant AEB and ESF contracts. I am responsible for over 100 staff and five direct reports and have overall strategic responsibility for a budget in excess of £20m.My achievements include the following:• Tripled Apprenticeship recruitment levels by restructuring the Business Development Team and enforcing a renewed focus on performance management.• Brought a high degree of commerciality to the college including development of new AEB provision, distance learning and full cost offerings and maximisation of existing loan allocation.• Lead SLT member on Fresh Start campaign and configuration of the learner and apprenticeship journeys. Worked closely with external consultants to design, automate and implement new processes and procedures. • Oversaw development of Dynistics dashboards for key performance measures including attendance, enrolment and apprenticeship data. Significantly improved data access and reporting to both SLT and governors.• Developed and implemented a new Apprenticeship Strategy that delivered an offer that met employer and learner need and ensured that the division contributed positively to the achievement of cross college aims and objectives.• Significantly increased full-time FE application numbers year on year through comprehensive rebranding and thorough review of marketing spend. This was despite a declining demographic.• Managed the reconfiguration of the Marketing, Customer Service and Applications Teams to provide a more efficient use of resource as well as a more positive experience for learners.

In 2014 the business of Optimas Training was successfully acquired by North Nottinghamshire College and became Create Skills Ltd. Create Skills are now a wholly owned subsidiary of RNN Group delivering Apprenticeships, AEB and commercial provision to learners and employers throughout England. As Managing Partner I had overall responsibility for Create Skills as well as another subsidiary organisation, Charnwood Training Group. The subsidiary provision had an Apprenticeship subcontract with the parent company worth £3.8m and AEB provision of £1.5m in 2017/18.Delivering to over 1,700 apprentices per year across 16 frameworks and 8 standards and achieving success rates in excess of national benchmark, both organisations saw growth during 2017/18, despite a challenging and ever-changing sector.I had overall responsibility for a staff of 62, which includes 35 direct delivery staff as well as Compliance, Administration, Enrolment and Business Development teams.

In January 2007 I established Optimas Training Ltd. Initially focussing on bespoke sales and marketing training we quickly became involved in government funded delivery after being asked to trial the new Sales & Telesales framework by City & Guilds. After initially holding subcontract arrangements with ITS, YTP, Barnsley College, A4e and North Nottinghamshire College we acquired our own direct contract in 2013 to deliver Apprenticeships.With a staff of 32 and a turnover just over £2m, Optimas delivered to over 800 apprentices each year, as well as extensive commercial courses and a 16-18 study programme funded through a subcontract arrangement. We achieved success rates significantly above national average and were successful in several SFA growth cases for our direct contract.

I was responsible for building this market up from scratch, a similar role to the one which I was involved in at Huxley's.

Mortgage Matters are one of the largest mortgage brokerage firms in the country, with a national network of over 50 financial advisors. I was responsible for all areas of the telesales network encompassing a team of over 40 staff.

QAS Systems are the market-leading supplier of the Royal Mails Postcode Address File, and were 51st in the Virgin Fast Track 100's fastest growing companies in 1999. I was based internally and was responsible for generating new business from cold. I was the highest performing sales person over the two-year period and regularly exceeded the targets set.
