Matt is a partner in the Seattle and Salt Lake City offices of Wilson Sonsini and head of the firm's Latin America practice group. Matt’s principal focus is representing international technology companies and venture capital firms in cross-border venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and public and private capital markets transactions. He also has extensive experience representing companies and underwriters in connection with initial public offerings and other securities offerings, including follow-on offerings, ADSs, high-yield bonds and exchange and tender offers. His practice also includes general corporate representation, securities regulatory counseling, and representation of non-for-profit organizations. In addition to working with technology and software companies, he has experience with clients in a broad range of industries, including logistics, transportation infrastructure, clean energy, ethanol, telecom, financial services, medical device manufacture, aviation, agriculture, utilities, oil and gas, retail goods, and food services. His international experience includes multiple transactions across Latin America (valuing over $28 billion and at least $1 billion in each of Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico) as well as transactions involving China, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, China, Russia, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands, among others. Matt is fluent in Portuguese and knowledgeable in Spanish.Matt is admitted in New York, Washington and Utah.
