Concept-to-production design engineering for industrial joysticks and controls. At PQ Controls I combined skills in CAD, customer interaction, interactive visual presentations, and a knowledge in business and management in order to create holistic controls solutions for customers seeking our engineering expertise. I also spearheaded several internal strategic projects to align PQ Controls in a strong position for future growth and market capture.

PQ Controls designs and manufactures joysticks and must utilize Hall Effect technology for joysticks that customers will accept. This internship changed the M220 joystick electronics from inductive sensors to Hall Effect control, while maintaining the rugged design to which customers have grown accustomed. The design process to create this new version of the M220 required revising more than 40 parts. Once the design was complete, a functioning prototype of the new M220 joystick was developed. This new M220 joystick uses cheaper parts, requires less time to assemble, and could ultimately increase the plant capacity at PQ Controls.

Summer job. EPG, Inc designs and distributes large Ink Press Control systems using its patented KeyColor technology.I was involved in a full spectrum of the manufacturing process: from Quality control and testing to on-site inspection and calibration.Extensive work on construction of computers and KeyColor console components, information development and organization, and minor experience with design of testing devices and circuit design.

Company designs and constructs photovoltaic systems for both private and commercial customers, with a focus on Camp Pendleton and US military installations.I worked in the field with the construction and inspection of some of the solar panel facilities, and also helped in the office with the organization of files, and sitting in on business meetings and design sessions
