Building, launching and running a new, pan-European trading venue with world-beating performance and reliability, and a unique market model delivering true Best Execution for both retail and institutional flow.As part of the three-person team which created Equiduct in 2006 I was responsible for bootstrapping development of Equiduct's proprietary ETS trading platform and then recruiting and leading both development and QA in the build-up to launch of trading in 2009 and through ongoing evolution of the technology and market model to date.Now as CTO I oversee development, QA and the technical operations team responsible for the live trading environment and am responsible for definition and continued delivery of our technology roadmap under tight budget constraints.

Working as part of a small team of external consultants responsible for the design and implementation of what was to be NASDAQ's next-generation trading platform. My role was joint technical lead, creating the underlying framework (C++) on which the platform which would be based and educating and leading members of NASDAQ's in-house team in building business functionality.The project was shelved before full go-live as a result of the INET acquisition.

Team lead for the implementation and rollout of a brand new web-based alerting platform for Reuters data products. This project involved rapidly picking up new technical skills around web delivery and the Microsoft .NET platform and leading a team including both in-house technical specialists and external consultants with full end-to-end responsibility for design, implementation, test and rollout to production.

C++ development, team leading and direct interaction with clients and business partners. Specific expertise in TIBCO messaging products - Rendezvous, EMS (and precursor ETX). Worked on post-trade integration projects, market data delivery, order routing and exchange trading systems. Hired and based in London, but my time at Tibco included a 12-month secondment to head office in Palo Alto and a shorter 6-month spell working in Paris.

Graduate placement which included a spell working on internal IT systems support and then two larger projects; the first working onsite as a consultant and sole developer for a client in the defense industry, the second as a specialist consultant leading initiatives around the then-brand-new Java platform at Reuters.
