About Matt Torney

I am currently the Artistic Director of Theatrical Outfit, one of Atlanta's leading theatre companies. Our mission is to "produce world class theatre that starts the conversations that matter". As well as main stage productions, we run the Made in Atlanta new work program, that develops new plays and musicals about Atlanta and the South, and celebrates the extraordinary diversity and talent in our city. We are also building a new community engagement and education program, to catalyze the power of art to start conversations all over the city.I have broad experience in theatre, film, television, and photography. I have led the creative direction for a variety of projects, from feature films and tv commercials, to photography projects, rebranding campaigns, and construction projects. My primary work is as a theatre director and storyteller, and I thrive in collaborative environments and purpose driven work.
