As part of the Compensation function, the Equity Compensation team’s primary responsibility is supporting the firm’s global equity plan design and ongoing administration. The team is routinely tasked with leading initiatives to solve the operational aspects of the firm’s intricate equity compensation processes including related regulatory requirements. This function requires liaising with other departments such as Legal, Controllers, Private Wealth Management, and Tax and will also involve providing support to other HCM functions, including Employee Relations, Firmwide Compensation, Executive Compensation, and HCM Business Partners.- Oversee all aspects of the preparation, review, and distribution of materials for Stock Incentive Plan Committee, including equity treatment of terminated employees and off-cycle/new hire award grants- Administer the annual grant process for 2021, including ~15K awards worth ~$5B in 35 countries- Work with stakeholders, including technology and engineering, to identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, minimize risk, and streamline processes.

Day to day work with external vendors including:- Initiation of relocation, tax, and immigration support for planning and review- Act as escalation point for vendors involved with transferring employees- Generation, review, and reconciliation of periodic and ad hoc reports for respective divisions- Participation in various global and regional project work including policy and process reviews, vendor reviews, and compliance/risk focused initiativesInteraction with GMS Finance team; including generation, review, and discussion of financial, metrics and population reports with clients; maintain data upkeep/ quality on divisional, country and regional basisWork closely with the GS Tax department and lead on complex tax matters for the team, including:- Individual assignee cases (e.g., reviewing detailed tax equalization calculations)- Broader tax-related projects- Supporting tax reviews and planning initiatives for Americas region

Assisted with expatriate outsourcing services for a Fortune 100 Technology company and a Fortune 100 Aerospace & Defence company. He worked with 100+ international payroll sources to prepare and deliver payroll instructions. Matthew was responsible for the multiple geographic regions and assists the client in maintaining active assignments. In addition, he aided in overseeing the compensation accumulation process. Matthew reconciled payroll instructions vs. compensation results, prepares shadow payroll reports and year-end compensation reports. As well, he reviewed compensation collection to ensure complete and accurate data. Matthew has spear-headed efforts to create a formalized process for preparing reconciliation reports related to compensation data.
