Matt has spent most of his working life in print advertising; primarily as a Printing Machinist. For much of that time, he offset the technical aspects of his work with his creative urges. After studying Art & Design, Matt tried his hand in a variety of artistic pursuits, including Sign writing, Illustration and Graphic Design. Whilst showing keen natural ability, he was unable to find the right niche to monetize his creative interests. Matt then commenced his trade apprenticeship in Commercial Printing.In 2004, whilst watching 'Big Brother' on TV, Matt contacted the show's producers, offering a range of suggestions on how to reverse flagging ratings and bad press. His ideas were rejected, which then led to him writing his first screenplay, 'Reality Check'. The business and craft of screenwriting suited both Matt's creative and intellectual abilities. Finding his niche, other scripts soon followed. A rabid thirst for knowledge led to Matt scouring bookshops locally and online, to learn more about screenwriting. In 2009, Matt traveled to Los Angeles to pitch his work to a group of agents, managers and film industry executives. 2010 heralded a move into Real Estate at the height of the GFC. Results were thin, but the experience was invaluable. Matt learned a great deal about personal branding, self-motivation, marketing, sales, time management, negotiation and pitching.Matt then took on a managerial role with a local Digital Printing company. He soon raised the bar in terms of quality & output, by introducing a series of metrics and standardizing procedures that increased the productivity and output of the small team. With a highly analytical mind, Matt is able to get to the core of a problem quickly and provide effective solutions for favorable outcomes. He adapts quickly to new environments and challenges. Matt is currently seeking new career opportunities and is keen to bring his wealth of enthusiasm, knowledge and skills to your team or project.
