Shortly after joining the team, I was given the opportunity to take the reins of the company's newest investment, a FARO FOCUS 3D laser scanner. Since then, I have been working as the point man for all scan activities within the company. My everyday roles include everything from the actual scanning of the building to the processing of the scan data in AutoCAD as well as the CAD production of panel shop, fabrication and field and file drawings.Since joining SGH, I have worked on a multitude of projects ranging from car dealerships, zoo entrances, schools, churches, military out buildings, and banks. During my tenure at APMA, I played a large role in the design of many built projects in Lincoln and Omaha, including the Criss Library Addition on UNO's campus as well as historic renovations of Avery Hall, Schmid Law Library and Keim Hall on UNL's City and East campuses. I also had a hand in the design of Bethany Lutheran Church's new addition in Elkhorn as well the Family Housing Authority office complex at 24th and Lake, the new Stanley M. My interests in design are largely found in modern, adaptive reuse focusing in on the use of simple geometric shapes and enhanced with different materials and colors to create a comfortable and efficient use of space that will best fit the client's everyday needs. While attending the University working towards my two Architecture degrees, I had the privelage to work part time (and full time in the summers) with my dad doing finish carpentry on middle to upper class homes in the Lincoln and surrounding areas.
