I quickly learnt the role and the necessary skills and tasks in order to keep the department functioning. I was responsible for over 20 drivers as well as two other operations staff and the supervision of the reservations team. Having drivers working remotely posed a huge challenge and my style of management had to quickly adapt to ensure high standard customer service and performance was developed. In addition to this I also was responsible ensuring proper maintenance for a fleet of twenty coaches worth over $10 million. I had to develop positive working relationships with our two workshops in order to ensure that high standards were imposed. I often took on additional projects in order to drive the company further which were outside my role. I also had big input into the direction of the company and regularly worked with Marketing and sales teams in order to make sure we were delivering across all sides of our business. -

Membership Services ManagerCardiff Met Students' Union Sep 2005 - Dec 2007Cardiff, United KingdomI was appointed as the Retention Co-ordinator for the University specifically looking at improving the level of retention at UWIC. Within this role I liased with all schools, departments and other areas of the institution in order to improve retention rates and the student experience for all students. This role developed into the Membership services and advice centre manager. The Advice and Representation Centre was a service for over 9000 students across four campuses across the city. I co-ordinated the society programme which actively involves students in activities and interests they choose to be involved in. I developed an improved society programme and engaged students across all four campuses. I worked extremely closely with student services in order to help students and focus both our services to greater effect. Within my role at UWIC I significantly strengthened the student voice and increased the student centred learning experience. I was responsible for approximately 4 full time staff and approximately 10 part time staff plus student temporary staff during peak periods and over 400 course representatives. -

I was responsible for all budgets, organising and administration of Bath Rag and all other fundraising within the University. Whilst at Bath I put on The Bright Orange Fireworks Display (Bath’s biggest fireworks display) for over 5000 local residents, the Roman Romp which was a organised pub crawl involving over 6000 students. During the time I was at Bath, I was responsible for raising over £150,000 worth of funds that was distributed across local and national charities. -

Within this role I am a licensee for three licensed premises responsible for over £500,000 turnover a year. Within this role I oversaw over 100 staff from these premises in order to provide a high quality service in a range of venues and different events. I was Site Manager for the Universities Summer ball which attracted over 3,500 students aswell as organising many headline events throughout the year.
