I was taken on at Chapter Media, to manage and deliver a reporting solution for J.K. Rowling’s ‘Pottermore’ project, working to a strict release deadline. This involved recruiting and managing a reporting services development team. I also was given the challenge of restructuring Chapters technical team. During this period I discovered Appcelerator and promoted the concept of cross-platform development for iOS and Android with some of our major customers including Haymarket publishing. I additionally created a need and provided a solution for Samsung based television applications for Autocar and Stuff magazine. All of my projects having been successfully completed and delivered on target, I am continuing to work with Chapter on a part-time consultancy basis until I find on a new challenge.

Change, Transition and Release ManagerEngineering Team Manager / Transition Manager

As Engineering Team Manager, I was initially taken on to manage, restructure and motivate the software development team and resolve a difficult and political staffing issue. During this time, I established a staging network along with a prioritisation program for developments in production. After being promoted to Transition Manager, I became responsible for Change and Release Management. I was in charge of instigating clear boundaries between the teams and creating a Change Authority Board (CAB), to mitigate risk verses reward on Release and Change lifecycles. I also instigated command and control processes for major releases and managed these protocols during the company’s largest 'Transformations' project; to successfully offsite all network servers.In 2006, I was promoted onto the Business Continuity Executive (BCE), during which time I was in charge of creating and managing a business continuity program for disaster recovery. This successful initiative now delivers full server recovery within 40 minutes and MS Exchange recovery within five.As well as managing the implementation of the companies 'Transformations' program, other duties included the recruitment of project managers and engineering staff for the following platforms: MS CRM Dynamics, MS reporting services, SharePoint and .Net development. My responsibilities also involved Major Incident and Problem Management, providing out of hours support 24/7. I also co-managed the companies green initiatives with a member of the company's senior management team. After investigating new technologies in this field, I successfully rolled out several power saving tools and innovative recycling concepts.All of my roles at Coller Capital were high-level customer facing, liaising with board members for all Change and Problem Management reporting across our financial systems, working to essential deadlines.
