Profile bio

About Matt Watson

I am an energised and forward thinking professional with a strong commitment in helping to safeguard marine resources for this and future generations. This is met with balance with an understanding that fish is both a valuable marine resource for those communities that depend on the oceans as a means of income and for those that rely on fishing as a key staple of their diet. I have actively pursued a career within the fishing industry, a dynamic and complex environment with differing stakeholder objectives. I am motivated to work with various stakeholder groups with different backgrounds and knowledge levels to ensure marine resources are assured for future generations. Being a keen consumer of fish, active recreational fisherman, concerned environmentalist and general all-round lover of the ocean, I strive for balance and perspective when undertaking day to day responsibilities whether at sea, on the quayside or at my desk. Currently based in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Listed skills include Fisheries, Sustainability, Stakeholder Engagement, Environmental Awareness, and 13 others.
