CurrentOversee visual storytelling and editing personnel and operations of WTHR, the TEGNA NBC affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana with coverage across Central Indiana.Lead a team of 14 News Photojournalists and 4 Newscast Editors, managing short and long-term news projects, manage and upkeep of news unit fleet of 15 vehicles, manage and upkeep of all photography gear (ENG cameras, tripods, laptops, microphones, Edius editing software, etc.), manage and oversee asset management system for all media, content, raw camera files and station archive content, co-champion the drone fleet / pilot team.Plan, coordinate and execute large-scaled events / remote broadcasts including Circle of Lights, 500 Festival Parade, 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Indy 500 Race Day. During a typical day, as with previous roles, I move seamlessly between news-of-the-day planning along with long-term assignments. Shoot / edit stories every day along with newscast show editing. Trouble shoot daily gear issues, vehicle issues, laptop issues, etc. Meet with photojournalists and editors for monthly check-ins to go over story critiques and their growth plans. Meet with other news managers weekly to go over newsroom operations and future planning.
