For 20 plus years I have had the privilege of working in the insurance industry and over that time I have always sought to challenge myself.From putting price on risk as an underwriter, to paying claims and managing litigation, I have had responsibility for the oversight of hundreds of millions of dollars in premium and for teams of people all over Australia whilst working for some of Australia’s largest insurers.Over my time in the industry, I have travelled all over Australia, to London, New York and Europe to get the job done and soak up that experience and knowledge.I have covered just about every angle and seen the best and the worst of the insurance industry.Through all of this I have stayed true to one guiding principle. The customer is at the centre of everything.It is this passion for the customer which lead me to make the decision to launch Good Cover and demonstrate to the industry, which has given me so much, that there can be a better way.Recent highlights:- Whilst heading the Partner Distribution business for RACQ I worked with Honey Insurance from taking the first pitch, through assessment, board sign off and onto completion of what is Australia’s largest ever seed funding round for an Insurtech at $15.5m and locking RACQ in as the exclusive underwriter. - Built and launched, in collaboration with major partner Carpeesh, an app-based telematics motor offering that is primarily distributed through the aggregator channel and now leads the market in the direct-to-consumer telematics space. - Took P&L responsibility for a $370 million premium business with a team of 11 direct reports and transitioned it from negative growth and low profitability to outperforming budget.- Awarded EGM’s ‘Excellence in Leadership’ Award for executing on National Strategy Projects at IAG.- Led a dedicated project team to manage a large-scale customer remediation program that was required as a result of long standing non-compliant practices which were identified in a self-initiated comprehensive review of the IAG white label partner distribution business.Skilled in Operations Management, Service Delivery, Organisational Leadership, Change Management, Financial Technology & Solutions, Underwriting, Client and Brokering Relationships, Transformation, Resource Planning, Training, Risk and Compliance, Project Management, Governance, Sales, Product/Portfolio Management, Claims Management.
