TongLabs is a company founded by an SDSU professor with a new technology for detecting explosive devices via a nonlinear laser wave mixing detection scheme. • Worked with a team to build a comprehensive business plan establishing a marketable strategy for TongLabs to use in pursuing federal funding.• Performed a competitive analysis, identified initial target markets, created marketing, operations, and financial plans.• Identified potential funding sources and devised a go-to-market plan for entering the market.

Played a key role in the implementation of a multidimensional cost reduction effort for the CVN 79 Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier (a $10.8 Billion project). Created metrics and tracking tools to evaluate sub-contractor & supplier performance.• Organized brainstorming sessions, developed a plan of action, coordinated & led multi-organization group meetings, and implemented tracking metrics. • Supported CVN 79 Construction Preparation Contract Proposal Evaluation.• Developed innovative status tracking metrics for Government Furnished Information/Equipment.

Performed software development for two R&D robotics projects.• Developed an interface for the Distributed Interactive Video Array (DIVA) for use in the command and control of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The DIVA system integrates a network of wireless, man-portable vision sensors with UGVs to extend the cost-effectiveness and capabilities of UGVs in securing large areas.• Worked on the Segway RMP Mule project which utilized a Segway to tow a 200 lb. field surgery table in place of four soldiers. Created a control system which used optics-based gesture recognition software to track and follow a field surgeon.
