I started my career developing web applications for years at various firms when I noticed a need for more user focus. I wanted to provide clients with interfaces that impressed users with their ease of use and simplicity. I quickly realized that focusing on a systems end users was only half the battle. The other half was understanding the business drivers behind my clients products. I adapted my user experience methodologies to focus on the business elements as users. Return on investment and financial stakeholders quickly became users and treated with the same priority as end users. This philosophy was integrated into our discovery process and is the lead driver of every engagement. I now lead every project at Workplace Engineering and focus my time on understanding our clients business needs so my team and I can produce engaging products that exceed both the client and their users expectations.
