We founded Calyx Health to build a better healthcare system for seniors -- one that emphasizes quality over quantity. We designed and operated a brick-and-mortar primary care clinic from scratch, and built software to help our clinicians better manage and prevent disease.I led all aspects of software development, including:- Product design and scoping- Technical architecture- Security and HIPAA compliance- EHR integration- Full-stack engineering (Python, Typescript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS)I worked closely with our cross-disciplinary team to gained a deep understanding of the business levers in healthcare, especially Medicare programs such as MIPS, HEDIS, and CMS's Risk Adjustment model. We also operated our own insurance brokerage with automated Medicare marketing campaigns, which eventually spun off into Mabel.

Recipient of an early career Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) grant. Worked on a variety of theoretical and applied data science projects.

Engineer on the core database team. Worked on several database components, including the design and execution of MongoDB's hash-based sharding feature. Presented at several conferences, led MongoDB trainings, and consulted with customers.

Conducted research in theoretical computer science, specializing in property testing, communication complexity, and analysis of boolean functions. Primary instructor of an undergraduate course on Computability and Complexity, taught to select Tsinghua students from the "Yao Class." Advised two Ph.D. students.

Responsible for the well-being of approximately 40 undergraduates in an MIT residence hall. I organized social events, and provided academic and emotional support.

Ph.D. research in theoretical computer science, primarily focusing on the area of "sub-linear time" algorithms (algorithms that only have limited access to their input). I also explored connections between the related areas of computational learning theory and complexity. I was supported by a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship and an MIT-Akamai Presidential Fellowship for my first year of graduate work.I also served as Teaching Assistant for multiple courses, including Introduction to Theory of Computation (Fall 2004 and 2005), and Introduction to Algorithms (Fall 2008).

In cooperation with the US Department of Defense, applied mathematical methods to cryptologic problems. One of two students chosen from previous summer program (DSP) as a representative of the United States.

Explored improvements to an algorithm in algebraic geometry using theoretical and empirical techniques. Briefed the director of the agency.

Developed tools and tests for the Common Language Runtime, a multi-language programming framework.
