I develop, manage, and implement communications efforts for the University of Minnesota Department of Mechanical Engineering. This includes overseeing an interconnected web of print materials, online presence(s), emails, and more in an effort to promote the world-class research being done by ME faculty and students.

I am the communications lead for the University of Minnesota's Institute for Social Research and Data Innovation (ISRDI), a University-wide research institute that provides a vibrant and highly collaborative interdisciplinary research environment for four interrelated research centers: the Minnesota Population Center (MPC), the Life Course Center (LCC), the Minnesota Research Data Center (MnRDC), and IPUMS. IPUMS is a leading developer and disseminator of demographic data, serving a broader audience of some 75,000 researchers worldwide. I create and disseminate all manner of messages via digital and print formats for a wide variety of audiences, including IPUMS data users, center members, and the broader University community. I oversee the writing, editing, design, production and dissemination of print and web-based materials for the Institute and its centers.

I managed the organization's social media accounts, maintained website content, composed monthly e-newsletters and quarterly print newsletters, served as in-house journalist for stories illustrating the positive impact of St. David's Center, wrote e-communications on behalf of senior leadership, provided event and development support, led public policy and advocacy initiatives on behalf of the organization, and more.

This involved extensive document development, public speaking, communications, writing, editing, and use of online learning platforms.
