I'm a writer living in Galway, Ireland. My short stories, essays, reviews, and poetry have been published in markets in the USA and Europe. My collections, Twisted Fairy Tales, and Twisted Myths, both illustrated by Jane Laurie, were published by Barron's Educational Series in the USA. My first collection of original short stories, The Boughs Withered (When I Told Them My Dreams), was published by NewCon Press in the UK in 2019 and was nominated for a British Fantasy Award for Best Collection.I have two comic book series, Róisin Dubh and Jennifer Wilde, published by Atomic Diner in Ireland. Jennifer Wilde was nominated for an Eagle Award in the Favourite Europen Comic Book category in 2012. I co-wrote the Witchfinder mini-series, The Mysteries of Unland, with Kim Newman, which is part of Mike Mignola's Hellboy universe, published by Dark Horse Comics, with art by Tyler Crook. I've also written Judge Anderson for the British comic book, 2000 AD, along with several characters for Rebellion's other titles (Misty, Monster Fun).I've written part of an anthology play, called The Hallowe'en Sessions, which had its première in London in October 2012. My short play, The Love of Small Appliances, was selected for a staged reading at the Galway Theatre Festival in 2016 as part of Waking the Feminists West, and I adapted it into a radio play, which was broadcast in 2019.I'm a regular contributor to the RTÉ Radio 1 arts show, Arena, where I offer reviews and commentary on comic books, books, and popular culture.My Midnight Movie Monograph on David Lynch's cult movie, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, was published by Electric Dreamhouse Press, an imprint of PS Publishing in the UK, in June 2017. It was nominated for a British Fantasy Award for Best Non-Fiction in 2018.I've been on the jury of international film, literature, and comic book awards, and I've curated programming for festivals and conventions.
