A lifelong advocate for social and economic justice. Maureen focuses her work on creating innovative solutions to address systemic inequaity. Maureen is the Executive Director of JUST TRYAN IT an organization that provides emergency financial assistance to families with a child in cancer treatment. Economic status is a social determinant that can significantly impact health outcomes. JUST TRYAN It works to alleviate the financial stress that accompanies a cancer diagnosis. Prior to working with JUST TRYAN IT, Maureen was the Founding Executive Director of the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women, an all-girls charter school in Baltimore. Now in its thirteenth year the school has graduated over 2,500 students and boasts an annual college acceptance rate above 95%. Maureen was integral in the creation of three Young Women's Leadership Schools in New York City and the College Bound Initiative. These programs continue with a strong record of success educating and empowering urban youth. Maureen graduated from New York University, Wagner Graduate School of Public Service in 2000.
