I am very passionate about working with older adults. Particularly those living with a form of dementia and/or a mental health condition such as a mood disorder. I feel that mental health has been greatly impacted by the pandemic, especially in older adults and those living in isolation. I am a PSW of 22 years and decided to further my education. I enrolled in the Social Service Worker Gerontology program at Sheridan College. I am currently in my second year and will be graduating in April 2022. It has been an amazing, positive journey. I completed a remote practicum through Sheridan College in April 2021.I completed 203 hours of practicum Fall of 2021 at Supportive Housing of Waterloo and currently completing 203 hours of practicum at Supportive Housing of Waterloo for the winter semester.
