I serve on the preservation and archival committees and regularly contribute online features in our ongoing effort to document and preserve the past of this historic Seattle neighborhood. The Queen Anne Historical Society provides its members with free events, including tours and author presentations; and in 2019 held our first annual QAHS Awards of Excellence event to recognize the people, businesses and institutions who have contributed to the character and preservation of Queen Anne.

This project involved independent research and writing documenting the history of the most vital infrastructure in Seattle's built environment, the bridges that connect its communities to the city center. The book focuses on the most historically significant and innovative spans in Seattle, and contains over 150 historic images.

I created new content and adapted content from my book, 'Seattle Architecture: A Walking Guide to Downtown' (2008) for the Seattle Architecture Foundation's mobile app of walking tours. This work completed the first phase of content development for the app, which went live in August, 2020.

Drawing from interviews and inhouse documents, I wrote testimonials detailing successful programs implemented by utilities companies across the nation concerning problems ranging from encouraging customer use of high-efficiency products to outage communication during Super Storm Sandy. My case studies were published in the monthly journal produced by Chartwell Inc., a membership-based forum for the exchange of best practices information in the public utilities industry.

The project involved working with a committee of Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF) volunteers and an editorial board made up of SAF board members.

Board organizational and fundraising support: keeping and tracking current action item lists, coordination of Board communication, grant preparation, maintenance of donor database, preparation of funding solicitation letters, initial contact with potential donors. ∙ Advertising, circulation and distribution: overseeing sales efforts of advertising intern, billing and receipt of advertising revenue, coordination of publication open house events, maintaining magazine archive. ∙ Financial Management: Maintenance of ARCADE’s books and records, working with board treasurer to produce financial statements and budget reports for Board meetings. My work with ARCADE Journal has provided experience in many facets of management, sales, customer service and strategic marketing.
