I am currently responsible for completing three payrolls at Bison Transport: Alberta company driver, Lease and Turnpike Owner Operator, and the Mechanic payroll. I am currently working towards gaining my Payroll Manager certification. I look forward to learning more about the profession and am excited to see what opportunities my certification may bring.

Responsible for customer communication when booking freight, scheduling appointments, recovering additional charges, and notifying of lates and delays. Responsible for creating and managing purchase orders for interline carriers. I must work with invoicing and accounts payable to ensure the charges are accurate and are being paid out correctly. I help the Customer Service Representative enter orders, map out deliveries and decide what Bison will cover and what we will broker to another carrier.

Improved my communication skills by being required to write letters on behalf of my employer; since I was representing my employer both as a Doctor and a well-educated individual, I had to make sure that my writing skills and knowledge of formatting were flawless and up to date. Improved my Microsoft Word and Excel skills by being required to create different types of documents for many purposes. I taught my co-workers and my employer different tips and tricks to using the programs and was able to increase their overall knowledge of both Word and ExcelAccomplishment: I introduced new programs and practices at the office and increased the number of third party providers the company bills to. I also decreased the amount of account receivables outstanding at the office.

Quickly learned how to prioritize conflicting duties, such as managing the café, running the events and attending to customers. Improved my communication and influencing skills by working closely with a strong-willed boss who valued my opinions and input. I was put into situations where individuals abused alcohol and it was my responsibility to keep the atmosphere of the café light and inviting.Worked with many different personalities and have trained them to become either a barista or a shift supervisor. I had to make sure that all staff were trained properly and completed tasks that were up to both my own high standards and my employers. Taught all employees how to be self-sufficient in their job and specifically taught Shift Supervisors key leadership skills to help them excel in their new position.
