About Maureen Lacy

I am a neuropsychologist at the University of Chicago. In my clinical practice, I complete diagnostic assessments and treatment plans with patients referred for evaluation based on noted cognitive (e.g., memory, attention, language, problem solving), emotional (e.g., depression, anxiety) and behavioral changes (e.g., complusions, impulsivity, reduced empathy). Along with clinical practice, I also conduct research trials. At present I am focused on defining the neurocognitive and emotional profile of children and adults diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1. I also examine the impact of interventions (e.g, surgery, stem cell transplantation, and new medications) on thinking skills and behavior. Finally I teach and lecture on brain behavior relationships at the local and national level.
