While a marketing intern at Champion ONE, I was responsible for the company's presence on social media. By completing research, a competitive audit and analysis, I was able to create a social media marketing plan for the company and worked to implement the plan.My main role at the company was to manage the company's growing social media platforms. Before I began at Champion ONE, the B2B company had very little social media presence. Based on my research and competitive analysis, I decided that it would be best to start with LinkedIn. I updated and optimized the company LinkedIn profile and began to compose posts to share. In addition, I worked closely with the sales team and showed them the benefits of social selling and helped them edit their personal profiles. I regularly provided them with posts and interesting articles to share. A year after full LinkedIn implementation, the sales team grew very comfortable with posting on social media and even started to share their own original content. After LinkedIn was up and running, I created Twitter and Facebook profiles for Champion ONE. On LinkedIn and Twitter, I mostly shared industry news, company news, company job openings, and thought leadership. Facebook was utilized to show the company culture, so posts include company news, job openings, and holiday posts. I kept a record of the success of these initiatives through Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, and Facebook Analytics. The company is based out of Cleveland, Ohio but ships products all across the United States and even to some foreign countries. While a summer intern for the company, my title was a product manager, so I spend most of my days adding new products to the company's fast-growing website. I utilized the software Magento to add hundreds of new products to BallastShop.com; ensuring each one was visually pleasing, informative, and easy for the customer to read. This task taught me how to determine which products should enter or leave the market based on consumer choices. I also learned how to calculate price margins, how to do business with vendors, and much more. I also collaborated with another intern and together we created an entire marketing campaign for a line of products and presented it to the company.
