Ever so quietly, without the knowledge of the Head Coach and Jets administration, I initiated the first continuing education program for professional football players at the Jets; I facilitated their dreams of attaining their college degree. It started with one player in 1985. This was the beginning of the NFL Player Development Program, Second Career Planning, which began League wide in 1990. As it turns out, I not only helped players, I helped me.
