Research Support & Education Librarian
The Research Support and Education Librarian is a research, reference and user services librarian, who also is specifically tasked to provide Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) resources, tools and training, as well as research support in biomedical resources, tools and data management to the departments, programs and library user community in the Health Sciences Center at Tulane University. This librarian provides research and data management support, information services, reference transactions, access to health information resources; teaches classes in the library's education program, and plans specialized instruction and programming tailored to the clinical, biomedical research and public health community.

As a reference librarian, I provided research support at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. I was also the library liaison for LSUHSC-NO School of Allied Health Professions, the Graduate School of Basic Sciences and Manager of Digital Projects. In 2010 I received a regional National Network of Libraries of Medicine award for $25,000 to digitize rare books on yellow fever. In 2011 I organized and executed a free online continuing education course on mobile technology in health care settings for medical librarians called "Get Mobilized: an introduction to mobile resources and tools in health sciences libraries." The class had over 500 registrants and was awarded the 2012 Chapter Project of the Year Award from the Medical Library Association (MLA). In recognition of this, I also received the 2012 Librarian of the Year Award from the South Central Chapter of the MLA.
