Maureen Tilley is a dynamic registered dietitian with almost 10 years of experience in research, clinical and community dietetics, as well as, an author of 2 healthy eating cookbooks 'Hold the Salt!' and 'Hold that Hidden Salt!'. She is very passionate about promoting good nutrition and healthy lifestyle with a practical approach to getting back to the basics in the kitchen, acknowledging barriers and working with individuals and groups to find the balance to 'happily' improving their health. It's this passion that has led to the publication of her two cookbooks and concurrent media appearances, public speaking and cooking demonstrations. Such opportunities have included public speaking at conferences, expos, as well as, on radio and television. She also writes articles on a range of nutrition topics for several magazines including Good Taste, Saltscapes, and Healthy Living. In a clinical setting, she has worked in inpatient care but mostly in ambulatory clinics with an evidenced-based approach to disease prevention and management including heart disease, diabetes, weight management, hypertension. Her role entails developing and facilitating group programs, workshops and providing one-on-one counselling based on the adult education model and motivational communication.
