Maurice Allen has been involved in the On-Site Power Generation and Power Quality industry since 1974. After moving to Atlanta from Central Florida where he attended Seminole State College he began his career at Blalock Machinery and Equipment as an Inside Sales Representative for Onan Generators. He quickly moved to Outside Sales where he remained for five years. The next four years he spent at Georgia’s Caterpillar Dealer, Yancey Bros. Co., as Outside Sales for the Engine Division. His responsibility expanded to include Engine sales to OEM’s. In 1983 he co-founded Computer Environmental Systems, Inc. to market Uninterruptible Power Supply systems and Computer Room Air-Conditioners as a Manufacturer’s Representative. As Computer Rooms in the 80’s became today’s Data Centers the technology to support their electrical infrastructure boomed. Products to protect sensitive electronic loads now included Digital Static Transfer Switches, Power Distribution Units, Surge Protection Devices, Parallel Redundant On-Site Generation and UPS’s. Automated 7x24 monitoring of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure became crucial for these revenue producing facilities.
