Manages architectural/engineering services contracts, and occasionally serves as field inspector in the absence of a construction inspector during construction operations. Writes task order project scopes for solicitation of Architectural and Engineering professional services. Reviews proposed Architectural professional services proposals and fees. Performs quality assurance/quality control reviews for Architectural and Engineering design submittals and the overall construction of projects. Supervises construction contract work in the field, ensures that project is constructed in accordance with detailed plans and specifications. Performs oversight of close out tasks associated with the completion of all assigned engineering services and construction contract work.Serves as an engineering representative on federally funded projects for Metra on Village run construction projects. Monitors the day-to day construction, engineering and project management activities ensuring contractor, consultant and resident engineer compliance with the contract documents, State of Illinois rules and regulations FTA, ADA, and FRA requirements. Coordinates contract negotiations for both cost and time modifications to contracts. Provides final review and approval for contractor and consultant applications for payment. Work with local railroads and other agencies to coordinate permits, R-O-W access and construction and maintenance activities.Manages Metra’s System wide ADA Station rehabilitation project to ensure ADA compliance as it relates to new construction and miscellaneous nonconformance. Manages project documentation and contractual responsibilities during pre-design, design development, and construction.Manages tenant build out and miscellaneous building maintenance projects as assigned.
