Suffering from with a rare, progressive, acquired orphan illness since 2009, the symptoms ultimately resulted in Total Permanent Disability necessitating Indefinite Medical Leave from Federal/State service, clinical practice, public speaking and consulting beginning 29Jun2012.It has been the greatest privilege and highest honor to contribute in some small way to the health, safety,and security of this Great Nation, the State of Florida, my community and every patient who has entrusted their care to me in my short career. As RAIsonance’s CSPO, it has been incumbent upon me to not only establish an inclusive environment that promotes the growth of AI/ML solutions by our in house data science innovation team, but also integrates the best of traditional rapid software development culture and the rigor of medical device and regulated device professionals. The reasons for creating the CSPO position at RAIsonance were a combination of blazing growth and the fact that my skill set complemented that of founding CEO, Catherine Kolding. Kitty is a serial entrepreneur with over a quarter century of experience at the helm of start-up companies that grew to successful (and profitable) acquisitions. Her experience with such ventures allowed her to identify early that this company was poised for a meteoric rise and would require a second in command capable of implementing a horizontal management model, while also removing internal (and external) roadblocks that would doubtless impose themselves in the path of the company, its programs, products or staff. Despite full disclosure of my physical and medical limitations, Kitty felt that by surrounding me with the best possible support staff, RAIsonance would benefit from my skills, experience and polymathic mind.As CSPO, I am responsible for setting corporate direction, product development and overall biotechnical capabilities allowing Kitty not to worry about the details and to focus externally. It took people a few weeks to to get comfortable with that setup, but through consistency and teamwork of senior management, they did. Section Chiefs for Innovation, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Project Coordination/Management and , Product Development/Deployment report to me. I also coordinate with Regulatory Affairs and Communications. The rest, including finance, marketing, HR, and the Chief Financial Officer, report to Kitty. Disaster Response Volunteer beginning in June 1980 as a recovery field worker clearing debris, later volunteering with the American Red Cross as a shelter volunteer and then shelter first aid provider. Volunteered as a physician at hurricane Andrew and subsequently in local and regional responses until 9/11. After the loss of my cousin in Tower 2, I returned to full time emergency medicine and updated my disaster / terrorism response skills finally joining NDMS/DMAT-FL3 and SMRT-FL3 while deploying with local services in Osceola and Brevard County, FL during hurricanes Charlie, Francis and Jeanne.
