ACCA is the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, supporting a global community of 247,000 members and 526,000 future members based in 181 countries.In my extended role as Portfolio Head of ACCA Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, I lead an experienced team of dedicated colleagues across Singapore and Australia to support more than 27,000 members and future members.Leading my team through a business transformation, embracing digital transformation and a new way of working with new delivery modes and strategic stakeholder engagement to achieve tangible and sustainable outcomes.

As company director and country head of ACCA ANZ, I lead a team of 3 (supporting 4600 members, 3600 future members in Australia and New Zealand) to increase our local relevance and presence, increase student acquisition, progression to full membership and member retention by introducing key values, differences and global network of ACCA to the industry, universities, regulators and prospective students. Apart from management duties in forecasting, and budget, competition and risk management, and management reporting to the Director ASEAN ANZ, I lead the team to create value proposition for our members, affiliates and students. I have an oversight for the education team to implement strategy to acquire and support students through their qualification and develop operations and growth strategy for Australia and New Zealand to support achieving targets for the wider ASEAN ANZ region and contribution towards the ACCA global strategy to 2025.I build meaningful strategic partnerships to improve employment opportunities for our members, leveraging ACCA's thought leadership research for discussions with stakeholders, universities, industry and to future-proof and advance the accountancy profession. UNSW Business School is one of the top business schools amongst the Group of Eight (G08) universities in Australia.In my capacity, I worked closely with international student recruitment agencies (IDP, ACIC, AUG, ACAE, AOJI, AVSS, EIC, Global reach, etc.) to provide degree and career information to offshore and onshore international students. I worked integrally with UNSW Global to ensure foundation students feel part of the business school in their transition to university programs. I developed and delivered information sessions for students (including UNSW foundation) on business careers to help them plan ahead, before entry to university and reduce potential loss of students to other competitor universities. As part of my role, I keep myself well informed about standards and regulations for pathway programs. Working with the marketing team, I developed communication plans and managed targeted EDMs to effectively engage and convert prospective students to actual students and track them throughout their lifecycle journey. I was involved in implementation of stringent IELTS and academic entry requirements to ensure quality assurance of student intake. I led the recruitment and marketing team in converting to a CRM-based enquiry management system and worked with IT on Microsoft Dynamic CRM integration to our strategy and implementation. We take care of millions of guests in our 5,100 addresses around the world.Due to a restructure in the organisation, I had the experience of over-seeing the customer service function and supporting the team in complaints management, management reporting of data and statistics, conflict negotiation between hotels and guests as well as internal staff training.

I started as a sales consultant but was shortly transferred to the customer service team to handle customer complaints and hotel assistance as a senior sale consultant and customer service coordinator due to my outstanding performance and great communication skills. I wrote and administered company processes for best practices, provided executive assistance to both internal and external clients as well as trained and provided assistance to junior consultants on product knowledge and processes. Chiang Mai University is a public research university in northern Thailand founded in 1964. The university was the first institution of higher education in northern Thailand, the first provincial university in Thailand and one of the highest ranked university in the country.I lectured on General English (EFL) and Business Communication Skills at the university but also taught IELTS, GMAT and GRE English for students looking for further education overseas (through an associated college). I supervised and assisted students in the completion of tutorials and assignments, prepared lecture notes and worksheets for teaching as well as coordinated cross-cultural events to promote global awareness.

Beijing No. 8 High School is a public beacon secondary school in Beijing, China. The school has been one of the best secondary schools in Beijing for nearly a century and accredited as "Municipal Model High School" by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.I was selected by the Principal of Nanyang Girls High School to represent the school in a new collaboration with Beijing No. 8 High School to facilitate future exchange programs for both teachers and students between the two top high schools. During this time, I was involved in designing and exploring collaborative-teaching with local Chinese teachers. I introduced student centred teaching and global perspective to the curriculum. As a result of this successful exchange, the two schools went on to have a long term collaborative relationship.

I followed my passion for travelling and took off from work to explore the unbeaten tracks of Thailand. I wanted to hone my level of independence and challenge myself in an unknown holiday destination where I can immerse myself in a different culture, learn a new language and discover new possibilities for myself. As a result of this period of discovery, I had a great opportunity to help out at a Karen tribal community and found my next role as an English lecturer at Chiang Mai University through the network of contacts I made during this short stint.

I interviewed and was accepted as a gifted education teacher and posted to Nanyang Girls High School - only 6 out of 130 odd secondary schools offer the Gifted Education Program. I Implemented specific gifted education teaching methodologies and strategies advocated by the Education Ministry to achieve utmost result for gifted students. Apart from academic management, I provide students with consultation and career and coordinated extra-curricular activities (concert band / drama) with external trainers. As a result of demonstrating excellence in my performance, I was selected to represent the school in overseas exchange teaching to China.

I taught English, Literature and Social Studies at Catholic High School. Apart from teaching, I provided close monitoring, counselling and career guidance to students. As a form teacher, I also managed a range of administrative duties from charting student progress to collection of fees, and providing reports back at committed meetings.To cater to my artistic nature, I coordinate the concert band and drama club as extra-curricular activities. I identify opportunities to showcase the talents of our students.As a stretch duty, I train and assess new teachers in the school as cooperating teacher as well as subject coordinator for secondary 3 English. I also managed the publication of the school annuals on behalf of the Head of School.

I resumed service after graduation and was posted onboard a landing ship tank (RSS Excellence) as a naval technician. I was also given operations and financial responsibilities to operate and manage a mess on the ship when sailing is underway. I also support officers aboard the ship with championing service improvement projects.

I served as a Royal Singapore Navy naval technician as part of my national service. Apart from basic military training, I was also trained in Basic Seamanship and Naval Technical Skills through education and on-job-training. I disrupted from service for university studies on a Singapore government scholarship.
