Working in a pre-sales role, I am aligned to Construction, Real Estate and Facilities Management in the UK. I help customers and prospects align their needs and requirements with Salesforce capability, ensuring that our customers are successful by putting their customers at the centre of their world.

My primary external facing responsibilities include (i) Making the case for data governance, (ii) Responding to RFIs and RFPs, (iii) Leading and executing complex, multi-person Proofs of Concept, (iv) Creating strategies to counter competitive threats, (v) Owning issues to resolution, (vi) Developing ongoing relationships with key customers (vii) Enablement and on-boarding of partner community.Internally, the role invloves the ongoing enablement of the regional presales teams such that they are self-sufficient in the data management technologies.

One of my final activities at Similarity was to deliver the technical proof as part of Informatica’s due diligence. Informatica acquired Similarity shortly afterwards.I was a Lead Consultant, which, in a small, start-up meant pre-sales, post-sales, defining methodology and best-practices, and product training. In essence, the goal of the company was to grow and expand as quickly as possible. I lead the pre-sales charge for the company, firstly in Ireland and the UK, then Europe and towards the end, I relocated to the US. Our ‘tipping-point’ win was Nestle globally- this got us the attention of the analysts and the market, and ultimately the Informatica acquisition. For Nestle, I designed the training and delivered it in Switzerland, Sao Paulo and Sydney.

I project managed the successful delivery of data warehouse and other large-scale systems to Norkom’s clients. This was across all project life-cycle phases and includes business analysis and design, requirements gathering, planning, risk management, budgeting and cost tracking, estimating and people management.

I was a key figure in an initiative by General Motors to centralise customer and prospect information into data warehouses, to support relationship marketing. I was involved in design, construction and support of a data warehouse system for Vauxhall in the U.K., and lead teams of people to realise this system.Prior to the Vauxhall project described above, I was involved in various high profile infrastructure and system management projects for General Motors. I worked in Dublin, Zurich, Singapore and Melbourne and responsibilities included management of various systems, hiring of staff, procurement of new equipment and supporting the user community.
