I am a LOVER of data! It could be my I/O Psychology degree, or the fact that I would count the numbers on license plates as a child during road trips. I think that Human Resources is in a unique place where the consistent and appropriate usage of data can vastly improve organizational effectiveness, employee morale, turnover, and culture overall.We spend a third of our weekdays at work; I want to do everything I can to use data to improve that experience for the employee, which in turn creates a more productive organization. We can do this by assessing talent up front and knowing who the best fit for the role is, knowing how to keep our talent, and learning and growing from those that depart from our organizations. I'm a big-time thinker. While I'm driven by my right brain, my left brain lets me study problems logically. Descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics is the future of HR, and I'm happy to be smack dab in the middle of this exciting movement in our industry. I've worked in many functions within HR including Workforce Analytics, Recruiting (selection and assessment), Organizational Development, and Organizational Effectiveness. There has been a single thread that runs through my time in those different functions: using data to create a more productive organization at every level. Expert user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Comfortable with SQL, R, and Tableau.
