The Waymo Chief Safety Officer is responsible for leading Waymo’s Safety Team and plays a key role in Waymo’s Product Safety Program as well as operations and workplace safety. Waymo’s Product Safety Program sets overarching product safety goals, develops and manages processes that measure product safety risk against those goals, determines safety-related product requirements consistent with those goals, evaluates and approves modifications to safety goals and processes, and approves product releases

The Vice President of Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance is responsible for the safety of the general public, factory personnel, test, flight, and Launch operations; Systems Safety Engineering, Hazard Analysis, Management of Safety and Mission Assurance Risks across all technical disciplines, Environmental Health & Safety, Mishap Investigations, and Corrective Actions, Quality Engineering and standards across all Virgin Orbit sites, and the Company Quality Management System

The Commercial Crew Program consists of developing, manufacturing, testing, and demonstrating the CST-100 spacecraft, launch vehicle, and mission operations. These program elements are part of the Commercial Crew Transportation System (CCTS) in support of NASA's Commercial Crew Program to provide crewed access to the International Space Station.- The CCTS SM&A leader is responsible for the technical, cost, and schedule execution of the Systems Safety, Reliability & Maintainability, and Quality (SR&QA) functions- Management and integration of SR&QA disciplines across the CCTS program to ensure crew safety, product integrity, and mission success- Establishment and deployment of S&MA strategies, policies and practices consistent with Boeing and Customer requirements

- Managed the Systems Engineering Team Leaders for Government Space Systems Programs, which include: Tracking and Data Relay Satellites, Wideband Global SATCOM, Global Positioning System (GPS IIF), and other projects for the USAF Space and Missile Systems Center.- Ensured the technical integrity of Space Systems by establishing Systems Engineering standards and processes, resolving technical issues across programs and product lines, and evaluating the readiness of Spacecraft prior to delivery to the customer- Developed and maintained the Technology Roadmap for the Space Systems Engineering Directorate, and led a portfolio of competitiveness initiatives to achieve affordability targets- Managed 5 functional groups (125+ Systems Engineers) within the Spacecraft Systems Engineering Department: Spacecraft Requirements & Verification, Spacecraft Design, Spacecraft System Integrity, Propulsion, Electrical Power, and Harness Subsystem Engineering- As Systems Engineering Lead and Program Chief Engineer, led a multidisciplinary team of Systems Engineers to ensure the design, verification, and delivery of a compliant Space Segment Design- Led the Xenon Ion Propulsion Integrated Team and was accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of XIPS products across the Boeing satellite fleet. Managed the interface with the supplier: contract negotiations, financial agreements, supplier performance monitoring- Led the design, development, integration, and test of a Spacecraft Bus Module- Led the specification, design, development, and verification of Electrical Power Subsystems (power electronics, Solar Array, and Battery) across multiple Satellite Programs

As part of the Heat Transfer Department, project managed the development of heat exchangers and environmental control systems for space applications.
